Computer Systems: Network Services

IT optimizes volume pricing, software licensing, and security through centralized purchasing, installation, and retirement of hardware and software. To purchase hardware or software using university funds:

  1. Submit the Hardware/Software Price Quote Request Form.
  2. Get supervisor or project director approval for the purchase.
  3. Obtain the correct fund and speedchart numbers from your F&A contact. (Click here for quick instructions on the proper use of the Fund and Speedchart numbers on the Online Order form.)
  4. Submit the Hardware/Software Purchasing Request Form.

A separate order must be submitted for each vendor. For standard requests, allow 6-8 weeks for purchasing, shipping, configuration, and installation. Revised requests and the purchase of non-standard items may take longer. You can track the progress of your order using the Purchase Tracking Database.

When your item arrives, the Helpdesk will contact you to schedule a convenient time for installation. For security reasons, all hardware and software is installed by IT.
