Users who want a secure and easy method to transmit data with remote colleagues and external groups such as data collection laboratories, can request access on our Instant Virtual Extranet (IVE). The IVE is a virtual private network device with restricted directories that can be accessed remotely through a secure connection and a web browser. You and those you designate can log-on, access specific directories, and WRITE and READ data according to specified permissions. To get set-up on the IVE, contact the Helpdesk. You will be asked to complete a SARF (pdf or word) and provide information on specific users, directories, permissions, and related pertinent information. If you are setting up the IVE for data transfer of data to be uploaded into the Research Data System, contact Laura Bettencourt of the DMG for assistance setting up a data transfer agreement.
