Dr. Song received his Ph.D. in theoretical physics from MIT. He did postdoctoral training in mathematics at UC Berkeley, in medical physics and computational biology at Harvard Medical School and School of Public Health, and in systems biology at the Institute for Advanced Study. He joined the Faculty at UCSF in 2009.
