  • Multi-level factors that are key mechanisms by which health and health care disparities occur.
  • An overview of measurement issues in primary data collection and methods for evaluating and selecting self-report health measures for use with diverse ethnic groups.
  • Selected quantitative techniques that examine mediating and moderating variables in determining health outcomes in diverse populations.
  • How to use qualitative methods in developing and pre-testing quantitative survey instruments.
  • Strategies for recruiting ethnically diverse populations and for expanding the roles of communities in the research process.
